was born out of frustration, confusion & delusion. Like most people, I became a 24/7 caregiver when I was least expecting it.
I knew I would be there someday, but someday it was today and I wasn’t ready. You can NEVER be ready to take care of a loved one with Alzheimer’s.
Like most people, I got it completely wrong so when things fell apart I had no safety net. I had always been a closet writer and when I submitted a piece I had written to another site I was introduced to a whole new world.
I decided to write about our daily struggles, things that I found worked, and ones I found that didn’t. TDAC is an unvarnished look into the World of a 24/7 unpaid, family caregiver for my mother who had Alzheimer’s.
My thoughts that are if I can help one person by providing valuable information then that’s what I was going to do and in 2014 The Diary of an Alzheimer’s Caregiver was born.
Today, I’m no longer a caregiver. My mother passed away in 2019, but TDAC lives on as a tribute to her and all of the many caregivers out there that just need the correct information to make informed choices and a little support from all of us.
