ALZHEIMER’S IN A NUTSHELL

Alzheimer's In A Nutshell https://thediaryofanalzheimerscaregiver.com/2014/10/alzheimers-nutshell/
Well folks it’s coming down to the wire!

Oct. 18th is the Greenville, SC WALK TO END ALZHEIMER’S

I’ve jumped in a lake on a cold Sunday morning in my pajamas to try to get you to donate. If you haven’t seen this you can see it here.

I’ve written about my mom’s and my journey every week to convince you to donate…

So now I am down to begging…please don’t make me…it’s not pretty!

So I will just stick to the facts:

5.4 MILLION Americans are living with Alzheimer’s Disease right now!

5.2 MILLION our over the age of 65

200,000 are UNDER the age of 65

There are 15 MILLION unpaid caregivers in the United States

An Alzheimer’s patient can expect to spend $215,000 throughout the course of this disease ($40,000 directly and $ 175,000 indirectly)

PLEASE DONATE TODAY!!!!

Today, I am pulling out the big guns and asking for a special favor. You see my momma, at 78 years young, is going to walk and while we have raised $195 none has gone specifically under her name. For every $100 we raise we get a WALK TO END ALZHEIMER’S T-shirt. My mom is a T-shirt collector and nothing would give her greater pleasure (except maybe blueberry pop tarts) than to have one of these T-shirts so today I am asking you to go to:

act.alz.org/goto/TDAC

This is our team page, it lists the members of our team and I would love to see mom hit that $100 mark. I would love to see all of us hit that $100 mark but especially for her. Her name is LIZZA and it is right there on our page. Just click her name and donate. PLEASE…OKAY NOW I’M BEGGING!!!!!

Remember to:

Appreciate the good, laugh at the crazy, and deal with the rest.

I love you, momma!

It is a tough month to ask for donations but ask everyone you know, insurance agents, doctors’ offices personnel even the doctor, pharmacist, grocery checkers and store managers, anyone who has met your Mom and tell them you will post your thanks on your blog read by thousands!
    Good luck!!

Some great ideas Haralee. I agree with doing it in October that’s a rotten month to try to fundraise with it also being breast cancer awareness. I have raised this and the fact that they don’t have Pay pal set up either is a big problem something that will be fixed by next year hopefully. I will definitely be asking everyone, waiting from a phone call now from my husband’s headquarters. Thanks for commenting!
