DATES TO REMEMBER!
It’s that time once again. That time of year when you scratch your head and try to make sense out of the Medicare website. You might remember me whining earlier this year when I realized that I missed the deadline and was going to be paying the price for that mistake all year long! You can find that HERE!
Open enrollment for Medicare starts this week. Thursday to be exact. Why is this important? Because insurance companies often change the rules and if you are like me juggling a crazy life sometimes things like this slip your mind and it can be quite painful. Believe me I know from experience!
The deadline is Dec. 7th! Don’t forget this date because if you want to make changes you have to do it before this day. Last year, I missed it. This year I paid for it dearly. Not only in less than adequate coverage for momma. Which included a monthly premium addition, less medical coverage, and higher prescription co-pays.
Just in the premiums alone I wasted $360 in monthly premiums because of my lapse in memory. Not to mention medicine that used to cost $84 a month went to $125 for a loss of another $492. See where this is going?
One missed date cost my family an extra $1,000 at least! That sucks! If you are a caregiver mark your calendars, so you don’t make the same mistake I made. Believe me that won’t be happening here again!
Also, while you have your calendars out…this Saturday is our #WALK2ENDALZ! Oct. 17th in Greenville, SC! We would really love to have more donations. Our goal was $500 and we haven’t even come close at $145.00. So please, if you would make a small donation by clicking on the purple flower and it will take you directly to the alz.org website and our personal team page! Thank you so very much. I would also like to thank the ones who have already donated or showed their support. Go by and show these beautiful ladies some love they are truly angels in my book!
