INCONTINENCE–NO LONGER MY DIRTY LITTLE SECRET…
Last month I wrote INCONTINENCE MIDLIFE’S DIRTY LITTLE SECRET were I told you that over 51 million American women suffer from bladder leakage! That’s 1 in 3 American women! I’m here to tell you that I am one of those women.
Every since I had an emergency C-section way back in 1992 I have dreaded every sneeze, cough, sit up and giggle. There are many causes of bladder leakage. Things like pregnancy, childbirth and also diabetes just to name a few.
For me, it’s not a problem I deal with all the time, but it is something I worry about ALL THE TIME! I have the most trouble during allergy season, when I’m sick, when I am exercising, or the absolute worst laughing with my friends.
For the last month, I’ve been giving DEPEND SILHOUETTE ACTIVE FIT a try and let me tell you it’s made a huge difference in my life. They feel just like regular underwear and are so much more efficient than period pads. They are so thin you can’t even tell you are wearing them! I can cough, sneeze, exercise and laugh with confidence! I can go out without automatically searching for escape routes or carrying a purse full of pads wherever I go. As a matter of fact, I haven’t even been carrying a purse for the last couple of weeks!
I know I’m not the only one out there that has this problem, but I’m sharing this normally deep dark secret to bring awareness to DEPEND SILHOUETTE ACTIVE FIT and CVS HEALTH. They are joining forces with the #underawareness movement to support women with bladder leakage as they navigate their path to better health.
I’ve been trying to get more active and healthier and I love that they are supporting me in this. This was a big obstacle for me, it is so hard trying to get in shape when you are worried every time you stretch that you’re going to have a leak. Now I can exercise with confidence!
You should really try them for yourself! Visit www.cvs.com/depend to learn even more about DEPEND SILHOUETTE ACTIVE FIT. You can get your own free sample at www.depend.com/products/get-samples. Join the #underawareness movement and get healthy with confidence by going to www.underawareness.com
Remember to Appreciate the good, laugh at the crazy and deal with the rest. I love you, momma!
I’m participating in the Vibrant influencer network campaign for the Depend brand. I am receiving a free product however, the opinions expressed in this are my very own. I am in no way affiliated with Depend an do not earn a commission of percent of sales.
What a great idea! I’ve had to deal with this issue too since having my kids and it’s a real PIA for sure. I always use those pads and they are so annoying. Will check this out thanks so much!
Thankfully, this is not a problem for me.
There are alot of people this doesn’t affect but there are also a lot that it is a huge life interruption! Thanks Carol!
I never really thought of not having this problem as an upside of not having kids
There you go Pia! Whatever works!
Passing this on to my mom, and pinning for myself for future reference!
Haha! Thanks so much Lana! I hope you never need it!
I think that any product that allows you to enjoy life and to do the things you want to do while removing the anxiety that had been a part of those experiences is truly a valuable find.
That’s so very true Karen! Very true!
I will have to remember this for my next baby!
Don’t even say that 2 is enough!
This is one of the things my mother never told me about and really wish I had been better prepared. I ultimately had surgery and am so glad I did but it definitely is not the first thing you should do. Glad there are products on the market to help woman but my best advice would be to make sure you have discussed this with a doctor because it may not be just a little annoying post-partum incontinence.
I didn’t know that surgery was even an option! I just thought it was something that I had to live with. I can see a conversation with the doctor in my very near future!
I don’t have to use these now, but I know it’s only a matter of time…..thanks for sharing the info!
Thanks so much Marcia! I hope you never need them!
