Keepin’ it straight…those words can send fear through even the toughest of caregivers. There is so much information that goes into taking care of someone with any kind of physical or mental limitations. Between doctors appts., remembering the right questions that you want to ask the doctor, any instructions he might give you, prescription medication instructions, dietary instructions, physical limitations, habits, and hobbies, etc. Are you tired yet?
Then add in the other family members who have needs and wants that you have to remember and all of a sudden you have a recipe for disaster. Think about it. Can you imagine giving your mom your husband’s Viagara? Now, that’s a mental picture that could produce years of nightmares or therapy. What about giving your husband your mom’s Alzheimer’s medicine? Well…that might actually be a good thing, but you get the idea.
Dealing with my own medical problems plus those of my mom’s sometimes gets overwhelming. I’ve become quite the juggler these last few years. I still forget things once in a while and that is never a good thing. My life is a lot easier than some of the caregivers that have multiple people caring for their loved one or multiple loved ones who need care.
The answer is easy …organization. Keeping yourself organized is the only way to keep everything straight. Wouldn’t it be nice if all of the things that you needed were in one place? Well, now you can. I have created “The Caregiver’s Manual” a pdf that can be printed out and put it into a binder, but this isn’t your average Printable. This was created with the caregiver in mind. There are multiple pages and nothing has been left out!
I’ve included everything from the Universal Medication Form that you should be taking to every single doctor’s appointment. There’s a place for insurance information, Doctor instructions, important websites, Caregiver notes, daily routines. Nothing has been left out. The best part is when you fill up a page you can print off another one.
This has been something that I’ve wanted to do for a very long time. Anyone who manages any kind of medical issues could use this printable. Even people who just want a place to keep track of the medical information. I’m hoping over the next couple of months to add even more things like this to make your life just a little bit easier!
I hope you enjoy it and please tell anyone whom you think could use this awesome planner for themselves! All you have to do is sign up for my newsletters and it’s all yours!
This is absolutely true, Rena. That manual is a godsend, in my opinion. Truly a godsend.
Thank you so much!
Wow, these printables are fantastic. I made sure to share them!
Thank you!
What a great idea, Rena, to share these printables. I find organization is the only way I can get through any day and I don’t care for a family member with Alzheimer’s.
I love finding and coming up with new ways to get organized. Glad you enjoyed it.
Wow . Thanks. As the manager of two people’s affairs, I know how important it is to be super organized. When I go out of town I always spend hours writing up lists for other people. Much appreciated.
You’re welcome, glad you could use them.
This would have been so helpful when I was caring for my parents last year. Sending this to my friend who is caring for both of hers (mom has dementia & dad is ill & bedridden) in her home right now.
I hope she finds some use for them, thank you for sharing.
This is an amazing idea – thank you for creating them, and sharing them.
You’re welcome, thank you for your kind comments.
Very helpful! Thanks!
Thank you.
Hi Rena! WOW! How very helpful. I can certainly see how this information could literally be a “life saver.” Thank you so much for sharing it….I have a couple of people I will refer it to for sure. ~Kathy
Thank you for your comments.
Such a great idea- a planner! I would have never thought about it, yet trying to keep up with all the organisational stuff by myself is (like you appropriately put it Rena) indeed a recipe for disaster! How many times was the pharmacy closed when I realised that a crucial medication was needed or I almost missed a Dr’s appointment. Thank you for keeping us up to date! xx Abby
Thank you so much, glad you can get some use from it.
This planner is amazing, Rena! Such a great resource for those of us who struggle to stay organized with these things. Thank you!
What a wonderful idea, Rena!
Only you, my friend, would think of it! (well, I did back in the day but it was much harder then)
Rena, this is amazing. Twice I have been in a position of caring for elderly/dying relatives and maintaining organization (especially with caregivers coming in and ouut) was a huge task. Thank you for doing this.
These are amazing. They would have been invaluable when I was caring for my parents! Great idea! Sharing.
This is an old post but I did try and get to the printable and its a 404 error
I’m so sorry it’s fixed now! You just signed up our newsletter and you get full access to the Resource Center
