As most of you know I talk about pictures ALOT! It has been the best way I have found to engage with my mom who suffers from Alzheimer’s disease. In the age of iPhones, iPad, and digital cameras this has gotten harder and harder. I haven’t personally developed pictures in years and for that I am ashamed of myself. It just seems that they get downloaded to the computer and that is as far as it goes. For someone like my mom, who knows nothing of the computer this makes it impossible for her to see the pictures that are taken. I run them on the screen when the computer is idle but that isn’t very often in my house.
I was recently contacted by a company that offers solutions to these problems. The company wemontage.com takes your old photos and makes them into a photo wallpaper. The sent me a complimentary montage to review and we LOVE IT! As most of you know, I am definitely not very technical, but the process of making it was really simple and we had a great time picking out which pictures she would like to add to her montage. I put it on the wall next to her bed. It was so easy!
The montages would work really well in assisted living or nursing homes where pictures are hard to hang or space is limited. They stick to the wall and ARE COMPLETELY REMOVABLE! They can be small (2′ x 3′) or they can be huge ( 6′ x 4′). Right now they are having a contest. All you have to do is go to wemontage.com submit your story of a loved one or friend in an assisted community or nursing home and why they need a montage to brighten up their living space. If you story is chosen you could win your loved one $1000 in free montages. Here is a link to that contest: https://www.wemontage.com/contest. It ends April 14, 2014 so you better hurry! Good Luck!
Here is what the owner of Wemontage had to say:
When picture frames fall short and leave you with lifeless spaces, the WeMontage website easily transforms your memorable and inspiring images into removable photo wallpaper. WeMontage empowers its customers to “live beyond the frame.”While not all spaces or moments call for WeMontage, there are undeniable WeMontage moments when: 1) There’s a physical space in which frames fall short (e.g., high traffic area, or kid’s rooms), and 2) There’s a vulnerable moment in which inspiration or comfort are needed (e.g., seniors in a nursing home).
WeMontage is all about emotional connection and inspiration.
Remember to:
Appreciate the good, laugh at the crazy, and deal with the rest.
I love you momma!
